
About Rabbi Esther Jilovsky, PhD
Rabbi Jilovsky is a warm and engaging rabbi who comes to the rabbinate with a wealth of education and experience. She was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2021.
She recently served as the rabbinic intern at University of Southern California Hillel, mentoring and guiding students to create meaningful and Jewishly enriching online experiences. Previously she served as the rabbinic intern at Kol Tikvah, a Reform synagogue in Woodland Hills CA, where she led Shabbat services as part of the clergy team, taught Religious School and Adult Education, and formed warm relationships with many congregants and families.
Rabbi Jilovsky served as student rabbi at Congregation Havurim in Temecula, CA and Temple B'nai Israel in Amarillo, TX. At both pulpits she lead deeply meaningful and moving High Holy Day services, interactive and fun engaging children's services and activities, and taught extremely popular adult education classes on a range of topics. She also provided pastoral care to congregants as required.
Rabbi Jilovsky was awarded her PhD in German Studies by Royal Holloway, University of London in 2011. She also has an MSt in Jewish Studies from the University of Oxford and a BA(Hons) from the University of Melbourne.
